Background

(Lara's childhood was marked by a close bond with her parents, particularly her mother, Lady Amelia Croft, as her father, Lord Richard Croft, became increasingly consumed by his quest for immortality. When Lara's mother tragically passed away in a plane crash, Lara was left under the care of her father, who had grown distant and neglectful in the wake of his preoccupation. A bright and curious girl, Lara was often placed in classes with students a year her senior to challenge her intellect. Unfortunately, her exceptional mind also led to a penchant for boredom in school, causing her to daydream during classes and get into occasional trouble for not paying attention. Lara's tumultuous relationship with her father deteriorated as his obsession with immortality consumed him. The breaking point came when Lara overheard her father explode in anger during a phone call and confronted him, only to receive the disheartening response that one day she would understand. In a heated exchange, Lara lashed out, saying she didn't want to understand, just for him to be her father again. Later, the ominous sound of a gunshot led her to her father's study, where she tragically discovered he had taken his own life, leaving Lara an orphan. The last memory she had of her father was their bitter argument. When it came time for Lara to attend university, she elected to finance her own education by applying to University College London. and taking on multiple jobs. While a strenuous choice, this determination shaped Lara into a more grounded, down-to-earth, and level-headed individual, as she learned the importance of independence and hard work.)
