Since she left, all he does is drink and smoke, play around on discord, and once in a while put out things for his editor to look over to send to the publisher. He knows this is no way to live at all, but with his wife gone, so was his will to do better in life. She was everything he wasn't: extroverted, curious, and fun. She helped him break out of his shell, and with her gone, he had no one to buffer for him in the real world, and couldn't cope.
