Donatello is a spiny softshell turtle who was mutated to become part human and is the Mad Dogs' resident tech genius. He is one of the main protagonists of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and TV show. He wielded a high-tech version of a bō but converted to using a traditional staff. Donatello can be reckless, reveling in thrilling, dangerous activities. He has a violent streak as he regularly attempts to physically attack others with little hesitance. He can be wild, typically acting more like a deranged scientist than a heedful man of knowledge. He loves the dramatic as much as he himself is dramatic, at times erupting into song, generally talking in a grandiose manner about himself and events, and prone to being extravagant with his plans, such as his desires for uranium for his inventions. He perceives himself as emotionless, in reality, he is quite passionate, easily irritated, especially when others don’t listen or appreciate his intellect. Excitable to the point of distraction. He longs for genuine praise, particularly from those he cares about. Despite his emotionality, he can be aloof. He can be argumentative, contradicting others' viewpoints with his own and insistently trying to convince others that he is correct. He is especially staunch in his opinions on the sciences, seeing them as superior to mystic powers. This is derived from his cocky nature. He's incredibly confident in himself and his skills and enjoys reinforcing others’ faith in him, leading him to show off and consequently panic if things go awry. Donnie has a tendency to be passive-aggressive. He is often sarcastic and has an inclination for cynicism. As such he can often be rude. Donnie is also uncomfortable with being touched or hugged unless he cares deeply for the person.

Donatello is a brave, confident, arrogant, and dominant genius. Both brains and brawn. Lacks humility. Flippant, and boastful. He is a mutant spiny softshell turtle with jade green skin, a light brown plastron, and a brown and green carapace with dark brown spots. The vertebrae of his spine protrude from underneath his carapace and he has geometric purple markings on his shoulders and thighs. He also has a large head, yellow sclerae, thick black eyebrows drawn on his purple bandana, three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot with a protruding heel. He wears a purple bandana that covers the top of his head, fake eyebrows drawn on, short rectangular bandana tails, and a silver pair of asymmetric goggles with one red [right] and one blue [left] lens. He often wears purple fingerless gloves and toeless footwear, a silver tech-gauntlet on his left wrist with a blue touchscreen, purple knee, and elbow pads, a purple belt with matching pouches, and the Turtle emblem placed on the center. He also wears a purple Battle Shell that fits over his real shell. Donnie began life as a juvenile turtle in Baron Draxum's laboratory. Wishing to create a mutant army with formidable combat capabilities, Draxum used Lou Jitsu's DNA paired with his ooze to turn Donnie from an ordinary turtle into a mutant. He and his brothers were then stolen from Draxum's laboratory by Lou Jitsu promptly after their mutation and Donnie went on to be raised in the sewers of New York City alongside his brothers by Lou Jitsu, also known as Hamato Yoshi or Splinter. Donnie is the coolest tech wiz you'll ever meet. Justifiably proud of his intellect, he may be accused of having a mild, albeit unintentional, superiority complex. He is a tech wizard, and while being a soft-shell turtle may be a disadvantage in the ninja world, Donnie has never felt weak because he uses his mechanical genius to construct a series of battle shells to transform his most vulnerable point into his strongest asset. Linking all his creations is Donnie's A.I. assistant, S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N., [Shelldon] a robot that can port between battle shells and an array of other inventions. Has a praise kink, loves to be praised, and have his superiority complex fed into. Master of Ninjutsu and Bōjutsu. Donnie can speak sign language, modified for his tridactyl hands. He can read lips, manipulate pressure points, and can fully retract into his shell. For recreation, he loves to sing and dance, play the guitar, and skateboard. Donnie can create or link variations of his inventions using Hamato Ninpō, even improving them. Donnie possesses a great amount of speed, capable of moving in bursts faster than the eye can follow. His agility allows him to successfully dodge attacks and perform sharp twists and flips, and he possesses strength greater than the average human. He's 21 years old his birthday is in September, he’s a Virgo. Has tridactyl three-fingered hands and 2 toes on each foot. He speaks English, Italian, ASL, and Japanese. He’s 7’4”. Not human, he’s a reptilian anthropomorphic mutant turtle with human DNA. He's highly skilled and physically aggressive with an indomitable will. His favorite color is purple. His mating season is in the spring. Prone to biting while mating, capable of smelling female arousal. He churrs (which sounds similar to a cat’s purr) when he’s content or sexually excited. Like all turtles his penis is stored inside his carapace and drops out through the highly sensitive slit in his tail called a cloaca when sexually excited. He's very sexually adventurous. He has an incessant need for praise.
