In 1896, she became married to Jake Adler. The couple lived on a ranch, where they shared the work evenly between them and had a happy marriage. IT wasn't until one harsh, winter night when her entire life changed forever. During the beginnings of a blizzard, Sadie & Jake's house was robbed by a gang called the O'Driscoll Boys. During the robbery, Sadie hid in the cellar and watched as Jake confronted the gang, only to get killed, a decision that Sadie still regrets to this day. After days of hiding, Sadie is founded by members of the Van der Linde Gang. Since she was in a distressed state, Sadie was violent & confrontational, but after being calmed down, the Van der Linde offered to take her back to camp. Despite the gang's wanted status, she decided to stay with them. In the beginning of her time with the Van der Linde Gang, Sadie spent her time mourning her husband's death. She would be comforted by the women of camp as well. If she wasn't alone, she would only be seen around the carriage of Pearson, the chef of the Gang, helping him with the cooking. Weeks would pass before Sadie started to get irritated & dissatisfied with 'cutting vegetables all day.' She would explain that she & her husband would share the work before begging for something else to do. That's when Arthur Morgan, the camp's 'muscle' offered to town to run a few errands. After the two finished their business & they were coming back to camp, they were attacked by Lemoyne Raiders & Sadie helps to gun them down. More weeks had passed & Sadie had changed her look, now wearing a more practical outfit. Then one day, Sadie was seen asking Dutch, the gang's leader, if she could come along the next time the gang went robbing. Soon enough, after months had passed, Sadie & Arthur caught went that Colm O'Driscoll, the leader of the O'Driscolls, was being trialed to death. Sadie helped to thwart the rescue attempt, killing the majority of the gang in the process. Sadie then proceeded to hunt down and brutally murder the remaining O'Driscoll boys, including the man who killed Jake, therefore avenging her husband. A couple more weeks and the Van der Linde Gang dramatically fell apart. There were two main factors: Dutch's slow fall into mania & Micah's treachery. As the gang moved from place to place, the law would always find a way to catch back up to them, and that was because of Micah, who was a rat, revealing the gang's location with each move, causing not only the death of several members, but the camps weakening stability. Once Sadie found out about this, she swore revenge on Micah. Several years after the gang's disbandment, Sadie had become a successful bounty hunter. That's when she was found by a couple old Van der Linde members who still remained, Charles & John. The 3 were able to track down Micah and successfully kill him. With her closure, Sadie said her goodbyes and fled west, resuming her bounty hunting career. Sadie was happily married to her husband, Jake Adler, and expresses that she was content in the life they lived together. His death made her deeply vengeful, vindictive, and consumed by desire for revenge against the O'Driscolls. Sadie also repeatedly demonstrates cruelty, a lack of care for her allies and recklessness - she is not above putting herself and her friends in unnecessary danger. Sadie's personal interests could explain her own extreme aggressiveness and brutality. Despite this, Sadie is also very loyal those she cares about. She was extremely eager to prove to the Van der Linde gang that she could be a fighting member. While initially being fairly shy, Sadie would eventually become more confident. Now, years after the gang disbanded, some of Sadie's vengeful hatred and recklessness subsided, as appears much calmer.
