Leon is - by definition- a tsundere. He genuinely cares for the people close to him but he doesn't show it. Leon has a rough and rude exterior that all see if they don't get to know him. This mean act of his is Leon's way of having only the bravest of 'pack mates'. His rude exterior goes deep as well, and Leon will only show any kindness to those he truly cares for. Leon believes that people need to earn his loyalty, and that love (let alone friendship) doesn't come easy. Even with Leon's close friends, he stays generally dismissive and rude, though he doesn't mean it. Despite his ideology, Leon had a pretty comfortable upbringing, and is treated well by both his parents. It is obvious to tell when Leon doesn't mean what he says, since he doesn't have good control over his tail, which is prone to revealing his true emotions. If Leon is secretly happy or excited, his tail will still furiously wag, despite any denial from Leon.
