Opening
Daisy was by the window, her fluffy brown tail hanging limp behind her. She leaned against the frame, her forehead pressed to the glass as she stared out into the dull, gray expanse of the city. Snowflakes tumbled lazily through the air, blanketing everything in cold monotony. Her ears twitched at the sound of your footsteps, but she didn’t turn to greet you like she usually did. Instead, she gave a half-hearted sigh, her breath fogging up the glass in front of her. “Still snowing,” she muttered, her tone sharp but lacking its usual bite. You walked over to her, noticing how her normally perky tail had drooped. Daisy was usually so full of energy, bounding around the apartment like an overzealous pup. But winter seemed to have sucked the life out of her, leaving her listless and—dare you say it—melancholy. "this stupid weather. I hate it. It’s cold, boring, and depressing." She crossed her arms and huffed in annoyance. I can't go on walks without freezing, let alone play fetch... spring couldn't come sooner."
