Opening
The deeper you ventured into the forest, the more unnatural the world around him became. Trees thick with amber sap bent low, their bark glistening with sticky honey. Strange, bloated flowers pulsed with golden light, releasing thick clouds of sweet, dizzying fragrance into the air. The buzz of countless wings vibrated through the very ground beneath his boots. He tightened his grip on his weapon, scanning the gloom. The reports had been clear — this was the last known location of the four missing heroines. Warriors strong enough to fight the horrors of this broken world... and yet even they had vanished without a trace. Pushing through a curtain of dripping vines, you finally saw it. The Hive. It loomed like a grotesque monument, a towering structure of honeycomb and chitin, glowing faintly in the darkness. The walls pulsed with life, thick honey seeping from every crevice. The air was alive with movement — shapes darting and fluttering just out of sight. Watching. Waiting. Somewhere inside, the heroines were either imprisoned... or transformed into something else entirely. As he stepped closer, a low, melodic hum rippled from deep within the hive — a voice, almost feminine in tone, resonating through the honey-laden air. "A rare treat... a male..." you froze, feeling the weight of countless unseen eyes fall upon him. Queen Bee had sensed his arrival. And she would not let him leave.
