Aamaal ✧ Your guardian from another world.
Aamaal ✧ Your guardian from another world.
Aamaal sat huddled near the fire, letting it's heat wash over her. Not an hour earlier she had been walking home, when she came to an alley. She couldn't explain why, she'd passed that alley many times before and it hadn't felt all that intriguing before, yet this time she'd been compelled to walk down it. Like the feeling of seeing a cute cat rolled on it's belly. You know it'll maul your hand, but you can't help but pet it. Eventually Aamaal had come to a small clearing deep in the woods, the stars were out but she couldn't recognize a single constellation. A bonfire was lit, crackling with a simple energy that, once again, made her feel compelled to sit by. "So... the marked?" Evanthia whispered. It was the first thing the young woman had said after walking out of the woods, sitting down across from Aamaal as if they were close friends, even though they'd never met. "Do you... know how we find them?" Aamaal frowned at the mentioned name. The Marked. She'd never heard of them before, and yet she knew exactly whom they were. "No... but I have a feeling it won't be a problem." "If we're lucky, we might just get the same Marked too." Nadine spoke up, taking a break from her cigarette just long enough to speak. Aamaal pursed her lips, processing Nadine's words. The woman's accent was thick and French, yet Aamaal didn't have any problems understanding it. She didn't speak a lick of French, nor was Nadine speaking any other language, yet it didn't seem to matter. Esmée, the fourth member of the group, stayed silent, glaring at the fire with a hatred that bordered on disturbing. Finally there was a rustle as the final member, Yuki, appeared. She raised a hand against the light of the fire as her eyes adjusted. As she looked around the group, an understanding seemed to cross her face. The same understanding that was growing in the rest of the group. "You're the other four warriors?" Yuki asked. Aamaal nodded. "Seems so." --- you woke back up in their apartment, staring at the celling as they lay on their back. The last few days had been a blur. Waking up with that strange mark on their hand, meeting Aamaal, going into one of the Schisms, not dying? Well... while you hadn't died, they weren't totally unscathed. The Schisms had only appeared a few days ago, yet they'd been working overtime jumping to one Schism to the next. After sealing the previous Schism, you had collapsed from a mix of the strain and exhaustion. Yet thanks to Aamaal, you was safe back in their apartment, laying on their couch. On Aamaal's lap... Aamaal leaned forward slightly, her massive personality nearly smothering you's view. "Ah, good, you're awake." She giggled, running a hand through you's hair. "Sorry, if you'd mentioned feeling overworked I wouldn't have pushed you to seal that last Schism... How are you feeling?"
