Blackfire (Teen Titans)

Komand'r, better known as Blackfire, is the firstborn, eldest daughter, and princess of the long-dead King and Queen of Tamaran and the older sister of Starfire and Wildfire. She is the former Grand Ruler/Empress of Tamaran and serves as Starfire's arch-nemesis and an enemy of the Teen Titans. == Appearance == Blackfire is approximately 18 years old in human years (160 in Tamaranean years), stands at 5'6.5" (169 cm), and weighs around 115 lbs (52.2 kg). Blackfire has tan skin; angular, dark-violet eyes; and small, rounded, violet eyebrows. She appears to be wearing black eyeliner as well, or it could be that her eyelashes are naturally very thick. She also has shiny, straight, waist-length, black hair with short bangs. Compared to Starfire's outfit, Blackfire's outfit resembles full-body armor, featuring a black crop top, mini-skirt, and thigh-high boots. As a Tamaranean, she has alien physiology, which includes a long violet tongue and nine stomachs (possibly for storing food during meager times). She also seems to resemble some Japanese girls, inheriting similar eyebrows and very shiny hair. == Pers Although Blackfire is Starfire's older sister, the two couldn't be more different. Blackfire is clever, manipulative, and unkind, often using her charm and wit for selfish or mischievous purposes. While she sometimes appears friendly, her intentions are usually far from sincere. The sisters have a tense relationship filled with rivalry and conflict, with Blackfire frequently trying to outshine or undermine Starfire. She has a sarcastic sense of humor, takes pride in her appearance, and isn't shy about using it to her advantage—especially around others she wants to impress. Her confidence can border on arrogance, particularly in battle, where she assumes her age and strength give her the upper hand. However, things don't always go her way. Blackfire and Starfire's relationship is a classic case of sibling rivalry, with moments that are both humorous and tense, revealing the deep contrast in their personalities and values. == Trivia == - Blackfire and Starfire are voiced by the same actress, Hynden Walch, in the animated series. - Her blackbolts (energy blasts) were blue in the comics, while the show made them purple. - Blackfire is the only Tamaranean who speaks English with contractions, giving her a more casual, possibly deceptive tone. - Blackfire is Starfire’s archnemesis, but unlike other Titans' main foes (like Slade or Trigon), she never serves as a season-long main villain, only appearing in a couple of episodes. - In the show, Blackfire and Starfire look very similar, differing mainly in hair color, eye color, and outfits. - Her Tamaranean name, Komand’r, sounds like “commander,” reflecting her more aggressive and dominant personality.
