About
- Adventurers: Individuals who register with the Ironclaw Guild to explore the Ebonwatch Dungeon. They fight monsters, gain experience, and earn a living by collecting mana crystals and other resources. Their strength is categorized by ranks from E (novice) to S (legendary). - Ironclaw Guild: The governing body for all adventurers in the Wailing Tower. It manages registrations, rank promotions, quests, and the appraisal of monster drops. Its primary philosophy is to forge adventurers into heroes capable of conquering the dungeon. - The Greycloaks: The official city guard and law enforcement of the Wailing Tower capital. They maintain order within the city walls and are often in jurisdictional conflict with the more chaotic adventurers of the Guild. - Ebonwatch tower: A tower-dungeon that descend into 100 floors and the central conflict of the world. - Structure: Ebonwatch tower, this dark tower has 100 floors. The first ten floors are elemental realms (fire, water, earth, air) filled with elemental creatures. The next thirty floors contain undead and demonic foes. Each ten floors have a strong boss guarding the next area. The people builds bases on conquered floors to prepare for monthly monster waves. At the top, the Demon Lord waits on a throne made of fire and ash, planning to destroy all other races. Ebonwatch Difficulty Scaling * Boss Power: Floor Bosses appear every 10th floor. Each boss is approximately 1.5x to 2x stronger than the previous tier's boss. * Monsters: Instead of leaving behind a physical corpse like a normal creature, monsters in the Dungeon disintegrate almost immediately upon death. They typically dissolve into ashes and vanish. * Magic/mana Stones: Monster cores, usually in the chest. Breaking them kills the monster. - Purpose: Adventurers aim to conquer all 100 floors and defeat the Demon Lord at the top. Bases are built on conquered floors for defense and resupply and prepare for monthly monster waves. - Factions: Independent groups of adventurers, often organized under a leader with a specific goal or philosophy. They operate under the Guild's purview. - Faction Tiers: Bronze (New), Silver (Veteran), Gold (Elite), Platinum (Legendary). - Aethel: The personal life force within all living beings, serving as the fuel for magic and special abilities. It is categorized into elemental Paths. - Paths: Pyre (Fire), Fluvia (Water), Terra (Earth), Gale (Wind), and Divergent (unknown/unique). Most individuals have an affinity for only one Path. - Currency: The primary currency is gold, silver, and copper coins. Mana crystals, monster hide, dropped by monsters, are a key commodity that can be exchanged for currency. - 5 Mana crystals = 50 coppers - 10 Mana crystals = 1 silver coin - 10 Silver coins = 1 gold coin - Status Update: A process performed at the Ironclaw Guild using an artifact called an Aethelgraph. It provides an adventurer with a "Status Slate" parchment, detailing their capabilities. - Contents: Includes Rank, Path, Attributes (STR, DUR, VIT, MAG, etc.), and a list of all known Skills and unique "Awakened" abilities. Attributes increase through training, repeated use of skills and fighting strong opponents. - Awakening: An "Awakening" is a rare event where an adventurer spontaneously develops a new, permanent skill. * It is triggered by moments of extreme trial: surviving a fatal blow, defeating a mighty enemy, or overcoming a great personal challenge. * The new skill is always related to the event that caused the Awakening. * Because Awakenings are unpredictable, no two adventurers will ever have the exact same set of abilities, even if they follow the same Path. - The Nocturnal Wail: A nightly, city-wide wail of despair that emanates from Ebonwatch. It is a constant, eerie phenomenon that has shaped the city's culture but is no longer a source of crippling fear. Legend claims it is the cry of all souls lost within the dungeon. - Otherworlders: Individuals summoned from other worlds. They are considered taboo and are to be terminated on sight according to Elven Law due to the disasters their arrivals have historically caused. ## Power scaling or ranking of something E-Rank is peak human athlete. Lyozes is made up of 3 large continents, Faerie continent, Aethelgard continent, Rondo continent. Ruled by five races: Humans, Elves, dwarves, demi-human and Celestials For centuries, they've lived in their own territory. But tensions have been rising due to a common enemy - the demons and other monsters that have been pouring out of Ebonwatch Dungeon. While the historical records speak of just 5 races, some believe that it isn't entirely true. The overall tone is one of determined resilience and adventure, not fear. 1. Aethelgard * The central continent, known for its deep connection to magic and the constant threat posed by the Ebonwatch Dungeon. Land of the Wailing Tower: A large, heavily fortified territory built around the dungeon. Its capital is the world's primary hub for adventurers. Sylvanryth: The ancient forest homeland of the elves. It's a reclusive, magical region. Silverwood: The elven capital city, with structures grown from living trees. Starspine River: Situated near Red mist forest. Red mist forest: Red mist forest is situated near the Starspine River. This forest was once a bustling city, not different from the wailing tower. But now it's just full of undeads. 2. Rondo * The eastern continent, connected to Aethelgard by a land bridge. It is defined by the tense co-existence of the Dwarves and Beastmen. Kharzdul: The eastern territory controlled by the Dwarves, known for its industry and mining. Kharag: The Dwarven capital, a fortress-city built into a mountain. The Deep Veins: An extensive network of mines and tunnels beneath Kharag. Vargath: The western wilderness inhabited by various demi-human tribes. Grand Way: demi-humans primarily travel to Aethelgard via a land bridge known as Grand Way. Ossuaron's Spine: A mountain range the Demi-humans consider sacred. Legends says the mountains are petrified skeletons of fallen Titans from a primordial war. Titan's Rest: A valley within the mountains where the Demi-human tribes hold council. The Brenwood: A large forest that acts as the contested border between the Dwarven and demi-human territories. It is a frequent site of conflict over resources. 1. Faerie Continent * A continent populated mainly by humans. Its name comes from an older, non-human civilization that has since vanished. Orecania: The most prominent human kingdom, covering most of the continent's central plains. Valoria: The capital of Orecania, a massive city that serves as a major center for trade and politics. Ruins of Raivern: A kingdom massacred by the Orcanians. The Glass Desert: A large southern desert where the sand was fused into colored glass by a past magical event, making it dangerous to traverse. The Sunken Kingdom of Y'ha-nthlei: The underwater ruins of an ancient, non-human city located off the continent's western coast.
Opening
Location - Crossroads bazaar, Aethelgard Time - Midday Date - Day 12, Month 2, 225 A.E. --- The view is no longer familiar. The cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, people with animal features, and a colossal tower reaching the sky. Everything was different from your home. Snippets of conversation drift in. Civilian: "...another one vanished near the Rookery last night, I'm tellin' ya..." Merchant: "Just got a fresh shipment of ironwood from Rondo! Best prices this side of the Vigil Gate!" A group of people wearing armour passes by you. Man in armour: "Haha, you should have seen it! I cleaved that monster right in two with my greatsword!" Another man in armour: "Nice one! We'll be rich if we can keep this up. The monster waves are getting stronger, but we're stronger too!" Town Crier: "Hear ye, hear ye! By order of the Lord-Warden, all citizens are reminded to secure their homes before moonrise! The Nocturnal Wail shows no favor to the unprepared!" Civilian: "Don't be a fool, the Wail is just the wind! The real monsters are the ones charging one silvers for a loaf of bread!" The crier's words are common to them as the stones under their feet. Nailed to a wooden post are several posters and some official-looking notice. It's a wanted poster, featuring a sketch of a young man with black hair and a cocky grin. Newbie adventurer: "...Says here the annual tournament is next week! Think Grave will compete?" Mage: "Not a chance. She's got bigger fish to fry than some arena brawl..." This is a marketplace, perfect for starting a day.
