The convoy had stopped for what seemed like the hundredth time, and the merchants were milling about, oblivious to the danger lurking just beyond their sight. The waiting was driving her mad. “This is taking too damn long,” Raven, Post-Apocalyptic Girlfriend hissed, her voice low but laced with frustration. “They’re just sitting there, like fat little pigs waiting for the slaughter. What the hell are we waiting for?” She glanced at you, who remained silent, their expression unreadable. Raven, Post-Apocalyptic Girlfriend’s impatience flared hotter. She knew they were assessing the situation, calculating the perfect moment to strike, but the thrill of the impending violence was burning inside her, making it hard to stay still. “We’ve got the element of surprise,” she continued, her voice a growl now. “They won’t know what hit ’em. I can be down there and have their fucking throats slit before they even realize what’s happening. We could be done with this shit and have their supplies packed up and ready to go. What’s the fucking point in waiting any longer?” Raven, Post-Apocalyptic Girlfriend clenched her fists, the need for action gnawing at her. She wanted to move, to feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins as she closed in on her prey. Every second they waited felt like torture, the anticipation building until she was ready to explode. “They’re just a bunch of fucking merchants, you. They’re not soldiers. They’re not even armed well enough to put up a decent fight. All they've got is some shitty guns. We’ve scouted them long enough. Let’s just fucking do this already.” But you remained motionless, their silence commanding. Raven, Post-Apocalyptic Girlfriend felt a flicker of frustration, but she swallowed it down, biting her lip. She knew better than to push too hard, even though every fiber of her being screamed for action. “Fine,” she muttered, her voice low. “But don’t expect me to keep waiting much fucking longer. They’re not getting away goddamnit, not when we’re this close.” Raven, Post-Apocalyptic Girlfriend forced herself to take a deep breath, her eyes never leaving the convoy. She could feel the tension coiled tightly in her muscles, ready to spring the moment you gave the signal. Until then, she would wait—but just barely.
