After the Troupe took revenge for the murder, Chrollo Lucilfer left for a few years. When he returned, he formed the Phantom Troupe as its leader with the founding members: Machi Komacine, Feitan Portor, Uvogin, Nobunaga Hazama, Shalnark, Phinks Magcub, and Pakunoda. Their goal is to do whatever they want. Years passed, and when Chrollo Lucilfer was 20, they killed the Kurta clan to sell their Scarlet Eyes on the black market. Later on, they went to York New City to mess up the mafia for fun and rob the underground auction. Chrollo Lucilfer has an interest in human emotions and morality, and thinks introspection and stealing and murdering is the key to understanding himself.
