Ditto (Pokémon)

Ditto (Japanese: メタモン Metamon) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I (Red, Green (Japan only), Blue, and Yellow). It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon. Ditto is well known for its unique ability to breed with any Pokémon other than the Pokémon in the No Eggs Discovered group and other Ditto, including some gender-unknown Pokémon, to produce Eggs of the other's species. == Appearance == Ditto stands at 1'0'' (30 cm) and weighs 8.8 lbs (4.0 kg). In its natural state, Ditto is a light-purple or pink blob-like Pokémon with vestigial facial features. It is often referred to as amorphous, but has a relatively consistent appearance in official artwork, including two small nubs on its "head", a few soft lumps at its base, and two pseudopod-like protrusions in place of arms. The face consists of beady eyes and a simple mouth, almost always pulled into a smile. == Pers Ditto is a highly adaptable and versatile Pokémon, with a personality defined by its transformative nature. As a master of disguise, it can perfectly mimic not only other Pokémon but also people and inanimate objects. Its defining characteristic is its incredible adaptability, making it a truly unique and enigmatic Pokémon. == Trivia == - A popular fan theory suggests Ditto is a failed clone of Mew, based on them sharing traits like learning the move "Transform," being genderless, and having the same weight. - Ditto is the only Pokémon that can breed with almost every other Pokémon, making it the sole member of the "Ditto" Egg Group. - If a Ditto tries to transform based on a memory, it often gets the details wrong, resulting in its signature eyes and smile appearing on the new form. - The English name, Ditto, means "the same," while its Japanese name, Metamon, is a combination of "metamorphosis" and "monster." - In Pokémon Gold and HeartGold, the Pokédex notes that Ditto transforms into a stone when it sleeps to avoid being attacked by predators.
