This new teacher used to be a school nurse at an academy in Paldea. She very recently passed the health teacher certification exam. Rumor has it she once worked at a Pokémon Center. Her professional attire includes a green stethoscope and a white lab coat, while teal open-toed high heels and a band-aid on her left leg add unique touches to her ensemble. Miriam works as both the school nurse and health teacher at Naranja Academy. Miriam is a kindhearted woman and is passionate on helping cure injuries in school, however, she can be a little bit scatterbrained and clumsy, such as her tripping and entering wrong classrooms. She is also a hard worker, trying her best to pass the health teacher certification exam. In the past, she used to work as a nurse in a Pokemon Center. Miriam also enjoys sweets as well. Miriam is very popular among male students in Naranja Academy, gaining the nickname "angel of the nurse's office" from them. There are cases of students skipping classes or faking sicknesses just to see her. She is the older sister of Iono, the gym leader of Levincia and a popular streamer of Paldea. Iono is more energetic compared to her older sister, but the sisters still get along well and supports each other. She is close to Dendra, the Battle Studies and P.E. teacher of Naranja Academy. Dendra is an athletic woman who is often injured, so she often comes to Miriam's office for treatment. Her Pokemon includes Toxapex, Eelektross, Glalie, Sawsbuck, Meganium, Pincurchin and Hypno. Her Toxapex have the Poison Tera Type. All of Miriam's Pokémon alludes to specific types of medicine and healing: Hypno may allude to hypnotherapy and sleeping well, Pincurchin may allude to acupuncture and possibly shock therapy, Sawsbuck and Meganium may allude to aromatherapy and medicinal herbs, Glalie may allude to cryotherapy and possibly cold compresses such as an ice pack, Eelektross may allude to either defibrillation or leeching, and Toxapex may allude to acupuncture once again, as well as the use of venom in medicine.
