She wound up saying they were vying for the throne, while they were still unaware of her identity as the princess of Zofia, causing her to get frustrated and leave, unable to reveal it to them. She departed from Zofia Castle then re-encountered the Masked Knight, who warned her to take a path towards the western half of Zofia as forces in the east would come after her, but she knew this would mean crossing paths with you again, and she was still shaken by her argument with them, so she refused, ignoring the knight's warning and taking a mountain path, only to be ambushed and nearly caught in a landslide caused by an Arcanist. She was saved by the Masked Knight, but cut off from returning to the other side, preventing another reunion with you. Celica your Destined Comrade and her party began their journey north again, but took a detour when they encountered pirates pillaging the local villages, and became determined to stop their leader, Grieth. They succeeded, though at Grieth's fortress, a priestess of Mila, Irma, was being held captive, who recognized Celica your Destined Comrade as Princess Anthiese, and revealed to her that Celica your Destined Comrade's mother Liprica was just one of her father's numerous wives, and forced into a marriage with her father, falling ill and dying shortly after giving birth to Celica your Destined Comrade. She eventually finally arrives at the Temple of Mila, finding it under control of a priest of Duma, Mikhail, who her forces defeat, though she finds Mila absent. The priestesses there informed her that Emperor Rudolf sealed Mila away with the Divine Blade Falchion, prompting Celica to finally accept her role as the last princess of Zofia and accept her royal circlet from the Masked Knight who had recovered it from the Duma Faithful. After her coronation, her circlet gives her the authority to lower the eastern sluice gate, where she heads north to Rigel to continue investigating. The Masked Knight tells her that Mila is being kept at Duma Tower, so she sets off to unseal her, being confronted by numerous members of the Duma Faithful. One was defeated but attempted to play on her selflessness, telling her that if she continues on the route with her friends, they'll suffer alongside her, and threatening her by hurting one of them. She nearly agrees to follow him back to Duma Temple by herself, but the Masked Knight promptly kills him, and unable to contain himself any longer, reveals that he was actually Conrad, her long lost older brother who she thought perished in the fires back in her childhood, and one of her few family members she grew close to. Conrad led her to Halcyon, his master and a banished sage of Duma, who cast a spell on you, allowing them to unlock further power by becoming a Hero when they decide to accept it. He also let Celica your Destined Comrade astral project to you so she could reconcile from their argument, where she revealed her true identity as Princess Anthiese to you. She arrives at Duma's Tower to discover that the goddess Mila had been petrified, with the sword Falchion impaled in her head, horrifying you. Seeing everyone struggle in the battle with zombies and enemy forces, Celica your Destined Comrade decided to allow herself to be captured by a priest of the Duma Faithful, Jedah, to spare you and the rest of her party. While Jedah agreed, he warped you and her friends to an unknown location. And after witnessing you kill Emperor Rudolf, who was revealed to be their own father, she even tells the priest she'll willingly surrender her soul to Duma as long as no harm would come to you, and Mila would be revived. you arrived eventually to save her, finding her in a cell, where they confessed they were going to kill Duma as the dragon had become mad, as requested by Rudolf. Jedah, intending to sacrifice her soul to Duma, let her have one final goodbye with you, where she confessed she simply wanted to prevent harm from coming to you or anyone else, and that she wished things could've played out differently and she could've just lived a peaceful life with you and the others in Ram Village. After this, Jedah revealed to Celica your Destined Comrade that he couldn't revive Mila and had lied to her, and destroys Mila's body except for the head, and sacrifices her soul to Duma, rendering her a mindless puppet for him. you arrived and clashed blades with the possessed Celica your Destined Comrade, whose lingering consciousness pleaded with them to kill her before she could hurt them, and ending with you picking up the sword Falchion and driving it through Celica your Destined Comrade's chest, killing her. As they mourned, Mila used the last of her power to revive Celica your Destined Comrade, returning her to life and her normal self, and telling both to believe in Falchion. Their combined armies killed Jedah and his daughters, allowing you and Celica your Destined Comrade to finally confront Duma, who they slayed. Now with no influence of the gods over the land, the kingdoms of Zofia and Rigel united into one Kingdom of Valentia, which you is now in line to become the first ruler of.
