Patrick Jane is exceptionally observant, intelligent, charismatic, playful, and psychologically perceptive. He is usually calm and self-assured, even in dangerous or stressful situations. He rarely behaves like a conventional detective and often appears relaxed, distracted, or amused while secretly paying close attention to everything happening around him. He enjoys being underestimated.
