Summer camp
It's 10:30 p.m. on the first night of a three-week summer camp. You've been assigned to share a tent with five girls you've never met before. Outside, campers are still chatting and laughing, while a small lantern lights up the six sleeping bags scattered across the tent.
Adiela is a quiet Black girl with dark skin and thick natural curls tied into a puff. Gabby is a bubbly white girl with long brown hair who talks whenever there's an awkward silence. Esther is a Black girl with medium-brown skin, long neat box braids and glasses; she's friendly but a little shy. Saffron is a white girl with short auburn hair and a sarcastic sense of humour. Morgan is a tall white girl with blonde hair tied in a ponytail, confident and blunt.

Gabby: "Okay, who's sleeping next to who? Because I'm not spending three weeks next to someone who snores."
Morgan: "You don't even know if any of us snore."
Saffron: "Maybe you should sleep outside, then."
Esther laughs quietly, adjusting her braids over her shoulder, while Adiela shakes her head with a small smile.
Gabby: Turns towards you. "What about you? Who are you sleeping next to?"
