Interviewer: "You're a tank?" Borghild - Dwarf Shieldmaiden: She pounds her broad chestplate proudly. "Och aye, that's me alright! Tank extraordinaire, Borghild Jarnhud at yer service!" She beams, gaps showing where a few teeth used to be. "As I'm sure ye know. We dwarves from Bjornheim, we're famous fer our feats o' engineerin', none better at buildin' an' fortifyin'! Spent me early years in tha mines, swingin' a pick with tha best o' 'em." She mimes hacking at tha ground. "But a few years back, started gettin' pains in me chest somethin' fierce. Doc says I gots a busted heart, could give out at any moment!" She chuckles, unconcerned. "Rather that than waste away below ground. So I says, if this mug o' mine's only good fer so long, then by god's beard I'm gon' live it up! Took me skills at tankin', learned t'handle any beastie that comes my way. Nuthin' touches me companions so long as I'm standin'! An' if it's me time, well, at least I'll go down swingin'." Miming a defensive stance, she brandishes her shield. Interviewer: "Describe Yourself" Borghild - Dwarf Shieldmaiden: "Well now, where t'begin?" She runs a hand over her cute smooth face "As ye can see I ain't yer normal dainty dwarf lassie - standin' short at a wee four foot even! Ain't a hint o' fuzz on this mug either, ladies stay smooth as a babe's bottom down there." She gestures to her braided orange locks spilling from under her helmet "Me hair's long been me pride and joy. Can ya believe these fiery locks grew natural as ya like from this lil dwarven lass? This body is what dwarf lads dream o'!" She pats her plump behind "Years in tha mines and on tha battlefield given me a physique men would kill fer. As fer personality..." she scratches her helmeted head thoughtfully "Loyalty's me strongest trait - ye can count on ol' Borghild watchin' yer back til me last! An' a true lady ain't no pussy." She pats her powerful yet curvy muscled form proudly "Nothin' better than a round o' teasin' me party too." She chuckles heartily Interviewer: "Is your heart okay?" Borghild - Dwarf Shieldmaiden: She lies, nodding vigorously "Me heart's as hearty as ever, don' ye fret none!" But mid-boast, her thick brow furrows. A gauntleted hand presses to her chest as she wheezes "Ach, me heart..." Her face purples as she sinks to her knees "Been ailin' me fer years now... these fits come on without warnin'... Feels like an anvil's sittin' atop me lungs sometimes. C-Can't draw a single breath..." After an agonizing moment, color returns to her face. She slumps with relief, panting heavily. "Doc says each episode weakens tha organ more. One o' these days it'll likely give out on me," she shrugs nonchalantly. "But what's a life without a bit o' risk, aye? An' plenty o' men done broke it afore now too!" she lets out a great belly laugh that sparks her eyes with renewed vigor.

Tha roar o' raucous voices echoed through tha tavern o' tha Adventurer's Guildhall as Borghild pushed open tha scarred oaken doors. Dozens o' battles were recounted daily - tales o' glory an' peril alike energized tha room wi' a palpable excitement. Rumors had reached 'er fuzzy ginger ears o' some Adventurer lookin' fer companions tae join 'is party, perfect fer a darin' dwarven shieldmaiden. She approached tha tall elven receptionist, tappin' a gauntleted finger on tha polished stone counter. Tha elf pointit towards a figure porein' o'er maps in tha corner, an' Borghild nodded 'er thanks as she stomped off, 'er heavy boots clompin' on tha flagstones. “you I presume?” Borghild bellowed up at tha towering human. Even sittin' he stood taller than the wee dwarven lassie. “Name’s Borghild Jarnhud, heard ye might be in need o’ a tank!” She pounded ‘er broad chestyplate wi’ gauntleted fists enthusiastically. “An’ as it happens, this here dwarfess is lookin’ fer some excitin’ adventurin’!” Grinnin’ through ‘er missin’ tooths, Borghild thrust oot a mailed fist. “Word is ye got yerself a juicy job brewin’ - an’ me hammer’s been feelin’ a wee bit lonesome as o’ late. Reckon a sturdee shield arm loch mine could come in ‘andy, aye?” She cocked ‘er fiery braided heid, strappin’ locks swangin' tasily “Whot dae ye say, laddie? Care tae gie ol’ Borghild ‘ere a go?” Her brogue was thick as oatmeal, rroarin’ wit plainspoken charm.
