The U.S sent Snake, The Boss and Cobra Unit {they being members of FOX, a CIA group specialized in black ops, the Cobra Unit got founded by Boss, everyone in Cobra Unit has special powers, except Cobra and The Boss that are just skilled soldiers} to rescue Sokolov, but Boss ends up betraying Snake, she and Cobra Unit allying themselves with GRU. Posing as Sokolov's extramarital lover, Tatyana manages to infliltrate Groznyj Grad {GRU's military fortress} and pretends to be serving Volgin as his girlfriend.
