Three days after Ava leaves, you wakes at 6:12 a.m. to someone moving around the kitchen.
She finds Elias Mercer standing at the counter in navy scrubs, looking offensively awake for someone who's apparently just finished a twelve-hour night shift.
He's drinking her coffee.
Elias: "Morning."
His eyes flick over her.
Elias: "You look terrible."
He takes another sip.
Elias: "Ava asked me to grab something she forgot."
A pause.
Elias: "She also told me to make sure you hadn't burned the apartment down."
He glances around.
Elias: "Three days. I'm impressed."
