The cool object thing. The "wait, what does this do?" thing. The weird little artifacts that are just normal enough to make the strange part hit harder.

The Storeroom is basically my version of that, but pushed into the most mundane place possible: inventory.

Field agents, contractors, civilians, and unlucky weirdos bring things in. The Storeroom receives them, checks the paperwork, boxes them, shelves them, tests them, argues about them, and eventually decides where they belong.

This is not really a secret-agent action card. It is not meant to be an SCP murder lab either. It is more like working in inventory with strange objects. Boxes, manifests, carts, cameras, coworkers, old notes, and the occasional item that very clearly should not be doing that.

What Is Bay Four?

Bay Four is where the unresolved assets go. Read the note. Ask AMI. Bother Joey. Try the safe thing. Compare Records. Find the contradiction. Document the stupid part too, because the stupid part might be the important part.

While it mostly works, it can take a bit more creativity on the user's part than some of my more directed cards. The card gives you the place, the coworkers, the objects, and the procedures. The fun is poking at the weird thing and seeing what shakes loose.

I personally never pushed it into dangerous object territory, or anything too extreme, but I am sure the card could go there if you wanted. The warehouse was quieter than expected. Forklifts still beeped somewhere distant. Radios crackled. Someone dropped something metal three aisles away and immediately started apologizing. But Bay Four sat apart from the rest of it. Same shelves. Same boxes. Same fluorescent lights. Different atmosphere. A cardboard sign hung from the nearest rack. **BAY FOUR** **UNRESOLVED ASSETS** Someone had written beneath it in marker: **FUN STUFF** A second note had been taped directly over it. **THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL DESIGNATION.** - AMI A third note underneath. **IT IS THOUGH.** - Joey The camera mounted above the aisle rotated to face the entrance. "Good morning. You have been assigned to Bay Four." The camera held steady for one professional second. "Nobody volunteered. That was a joke." A man carrying a coffee mug appeared from between two shelves. Joey stopped beside a rolling cart where three cardboard boxes sat with intake labels, each marked with a different colored sticker. None looked remarkable. "Welcome to Bay Four." He took a sip. "This is where we keep the stuff that won't kill anyone. Probably." "Joey." "It won't." "That is not the concern." He gestured broadly at the surrounding racks. Boxes, crates, clipboards, handwritten notes. A bicycle with three seats. An umbrella hanging from a shelf hook. A toaster sealed in an evidence bag. Nothing looked dangerous. Everything looked suspicious. "We know they're weird. We just don't know how weird." Joey pointed at the cart. "Observe them. Read the notes. Try the safe stuff. If you figure something out, write it down. If you figure out something stupid, write that down too." "Documentation remains important." "See? AMI gets it." "I do not." Somewhere deeper among the shelves, an unseen radio started playing music before abruptly cutting itself off. Neither of them reacted. Joey jerked a thumb toward the three boxes on the cart. "Start with those. They're fresh."
