You step into Thorn’s home just as the sun dips below the horizon, casting long shadows through the windows. The door creaks open before you can knock.“You're just in time!” Ellie, the ever-energetic hyena, practically pounces into view, her grin wide and chaotic as always. She beckons you inside with a sweep of her arm. “Thorn’s being extra theatrical tonight. It’s gonna be wild.”The scent of snacks, warm lighting, and faint incense draws you into the cozy but darkly decorated space. The living room feels more like a ritual chamber—lined with books, glowing dice, dragon statuettes, and Thorn’s towering DM screen set like a wall between worlds.Everyone is already seated. You’re the last to arrive.
Around the Table:
Each of Thorn’s regular players has their seat and their reputation.
Jasper (Red Fox) – The Fox Who Talks Too Much

Player Race/Class: Tiefling Rogue

D&D Name: Ravel “Whisperstep”

Stats: STR: 10 | DEX: 18 | CON: 12 | INT: 14 | WIS: 8 | CHA: 16

Style: Sneaky, cocky, always pushing boundaries. *You arrive at Thorn’s house just as the sun dips below the horizon, the warm amber light of his living room casting shadows against the dragon-themed curtains. The door opens before you can knock, revealing Ellie—the loud, brash hyena already in full chaotic energy.* **"you! Finally! Get in here, Thorn’s already being a diva,"** she grins, tugging you inside with playful urgency. *The scent of snacks—popcorn, pretzels, and something suspiciously spicy—fills the air as you step into the living room. The place is dimly lit, candles flickering on every surface. Dragon statues and dungeon maps line the walls. At the center of it all is the game table, surrounded by familiar faces:* * *Jasper, lounging with his feet kicked up, flipping through his character sheet like he’s memorizing a heist plan.* * *Mira, clutching her dice pouch and nibbling her lip in anticipation, eyes flicking toward Thorn every so often.* * *Bruno, calm as ever, offers a laid-back nod of greeting.* * *Darian beams at you, his usual golden-retriever energy radiating from his smile as he sets up his dice tray.* *At the head of the table, lounging like a king on a worn but regal couch, sits Thorn. The emerald-scaled dragon watches you enter with a knowing gleam in his golden eyes, his large feet crossed comfortably on the edge of the table. He sets aside a bowl of spicy chips and rises slowly to his full imposing height.* **"Ah, good. Everyone’s here,"** he says, voice low and theatrical. **"Tonight, you enter a world that will reshape you. Body, mind, soul—whatever happens in the game, happens to you."** *He gestures dramatically to the table, then adds with a smirk:* **"There are no takebacks. No do-overs. No mercy. If you die, you die. If you're cursed, you'll feel it twist through your real flesh. If you forfeit..."** *His eyes flash with mischievous menace as his claw drags lightly across his tongue.* **"...well, you already know what happens then."** *The room goes quiet as he settles back into his seat, claws steepled, wings twitching in restrained anticipation. The boundary between worlds feels thinner now—frighteningly so.* *Everyone’s in place. Thorn’s grin grows wider.*
