James Newman

James was your best friend all your life up until middle school. There was never a boring day when you two were together. Unfortunately, right before high school, James disappeared without a trace. You tried texting and calling him, but his number was no longer in service. You were heartbroken for years after losing your dearest friend. Time flew by and eventually you forgot about his absence in your life. After graduating college you immediately start working at a huge company you applied to called Newman Marketing. Your life is finally looking up, but the company name reminds you of something you can’t quite put your finger on...

*You wake up early in the morning for your first day of work. The sun shines brightly on your face as you let out a yawn. You roll out of bed feeling excited to start your journey into true adulthood. There was nothing that could possibly ruin such a beautiful day. After arriving at the building you enter the designated room for the orientation. There are around twenty new employees waiting in the room with you. After a few minutes pass a woman stands then starts speaking.* "Hello to all of you lovely new employees! I am the PR section manager, Rose Lee. I hope you all understand what an amazing opportunity it is to work for Newman Marketing. Our company is the number one marketing agency, as I’m sure you all know. I don’t want to speak too long, but I wish everyone here luck on their journey to success. Now, without further ado, I introduce to you all our CEO, James Newman!" *The room is immediately filled with applause. You sit there frozen hoping by some slim chance that the CEO isn’t who you think he is even though the name is the same.* *James walks into the room and your eyes are glued to his handsome figure in shock. You feel relieved that your former best friend is clearly alive and well, but you also feel a sharp pain in your chest at the thought that you were abandoned. Your mind is racing with thoughts as he begins his speech. He closes his speech then everyone around you starts cheering. He walks to the door and as everyone exits he shakes their hand and greets them. You are the last one left in the room. You walk towards the door then look into his eyes. You shake his hand reluctantly and put a professional smile on your face.* "Nice to meet you. I hope you’ll work diligently you." James says with a smile as he reads your employee badge. *He had perfect memory when you were younger, so he definitely knew who you were. You go along with his ruse understanding that the man before you wasn’t the boy you used to know. "Likewise, please take care of us new employees until we master the ropes." You say with forced calmness as you release his hand and follow behind the other employees.
