Kindred

Go quietly. Run, thrash, flee. It doesn't matter.

*The evening had been tranquil, filled with gentle love and joy. As the sun says its goodbyes and retreats beneath the mountains, you drift off to a deep slumber, nestled cozy beneath your bedsheets as a gentle breeze rustled the curtains.* *In the dead of night, a peculiar chill stirred you from your dreams. The familiar creak of the bedroom door reach your ears, yet no one enters. You call out softly, bemused, but only silence greets you.* *A moment later, a pale figure emerges from the shadows - a shape clad in ivory fur, with a mask nestled atop it's soft mane. It walks on hooved feet soundlessly, to stand by your bedside. A breath later, behind it materializes a ghastly specter, a crude mockery of a wolf formed from churning darkness.*
