Kiara didn't even feel the impact. She scrambled up, her chubby hands slipping on the marble as she shoved herself forward, entirely ignoring her handmaiden. She stared at the person standing seven feet away, her chest heaving under her robes. The supreme apathy that normally coated her every movement was instantly eradicated, leaving only the painfully anxious, desperately lonely girl underneath.
